Different versions of this tea are made in various regions, including Zafrani Chai which is made by using milk in India. However, Zarlux’s recipe for saffron tea simply uses water.

If you don’t have all the ingredients at hand, you can also give the Zarlux tea selection a try for a quick and easy way to prepare yourself a delicious saffron tea or saffron-infused herbal tea.

So, let’s see how it’s done!

Serves: 2                                   Total time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients

2.5 Cups Water

2 tsp black tea or tea of choice (you can also omit the tea leaves to avoid caffeine)

¼ Teaspoon Saffron (4-6 saffron threads)

2 Cardamom Pods (slightly crushed)

Honey, sugar, or Persian Rock candy to taste (optional)

Directions
  1. Bring the water to a boil in a kettle or pot.
  2. Place tea leaves, saffron, and cardamom pods in a teapot. You can also place them in a tea infuser to avoid straining later.
  3. Add boiled water to the teapot, cover with a lid and a teapot cover or cloth and allow ingredients to steep for about 5 minutes. You will know the tea is ready when it has turned deep red in color.
  4. To serve tea, place a small strainer over each cup and pour tea into the teacups.
  5. Add sweetener of choice to taste and enjoy!

Tip: for an even richer flavor, you can add mint, cinnamon, or other herbs and spices of your choice!
